My Personal Favourite is Bush Balm’s, Sweet Escape Trio
Ingrown Hairs can genuinely be a challenge. Some people experience ingrown hairs from shaving, waxing or sugaring and here are three reasons WHY.
1. The skin was not appropriately prepared before hair removal.
When it comes to preventing ingrown hairs, it is essential to start with hydrated skin. If the skin is dehydrated and we try to remove hair from the root with body sugaring, you may experience the hair breaking, leaving some of the hair still in the hair follicle. Applying bikini-specific skincare daily, such as Bush Balm’s Nude Oil or Sweet Escape Oil (my favourite), will ensure proper hydration before hair removal.
2. The skin is not being exfoliated.
Dry winter = Dry Skin = Potential For Ingrown Hairs.
When you choose to include Bush Balm Sugar Scrub or Nordic Dry Brush into your weekly self-care routine by exfoliating your skin 2-3 times a week, you will notice when the hair starts to regrow around two weeks after your sugaring treatment, you won’t have layers of dead skin fighting against the hair. The hair naturally and easily pops through the follicle.
3. Are my yoga pants the challenge?
Friction caused by tight clothing can also increase your chances of getting ingrown hair. Around the 2-week mark, post body sugaring, notice if the hair is starting to poke through the hair follicle. Swap out your leggings for looser clothing until the hair has come out of the strand. If not, as the hair grows, if you continue to wear leggings, the friction may push the hair back onto its hair follicle, causing it to become ingrown.
Bushbalm was founded on the promise to solve ingrown hairs, razor burns and dark spots with natural products. It’s a Canadian Made Bikini specific skincare line that is vegan and cruelty-free and includes naturally derived ingredients such as jojoba seed oil, grapeseed oil, and tea tree oil.
What is the difference between Nude & Sweet Escape?
Nude and Sweet Escape Oil is great for preventing ingrown hairs, redness, irritation and razor bumps. The main difference between the two is the scent. Nude has a light tea tree scent which is great for those with sensitive skin as it contains the least amount of ingredients. On the other hand, Sweet Escape has a soft and sweet scent of tangerine and vanilla.
